NYC Mommies Weekend

My two girlfriends, Megan and Dana, and I took a much needed mommy get away weekend to New York City a couple weekends ago.

Megan's Aunt and Uncle live in NJ just outside the city, so we spent Friday night eating tons of delicious food and drinking some yummy wine.  Our meal consisted of several rounds that included homemade clam choweder, hummus and veggies, seared tuna with sesame seeds on a bed of seaweed salad, kabobs with fresh basil, mozerella and tomato with balsamic dressing, and flank steak.  Little did we know that was the beginning of our pampering.

After chowing down on the yummy food, here's Megan, Dana, Aunt Dee and I.

We woke up to an overcast morning, and breakfast on the table.  Aunt Dee surprised us with some spending money at the Marriott to accompany our suite at the hotel.  So we headed off to the city.

On our way out the door...
First stop was to drop off our bags at the hotel and then we headed down to Battery Park to see the Statue of Liberty....here she is...

Just kidding.  Here's the real one.

Here's a picture of ground zero.  They've done so much in the past few years.  Last time I was there they were still cleaning up.  Awesome to see the progress.

We also had lunch with my cousin Catherine and my Aunt Donna in Chinatown followed by dessert in Little Italy.  Yummy!

After all that sight seeing, we headed back to the hotel to change and get ready for our Broadway apperance, I mean show.

Yes we saw Wicked and it was amazing!  This was my second show, Rent was my first, and I just can't get enough of Broadway.  I would love to go back and see Wicked again.

We also got to go to The View...not the talk show.  It's a revolving resturant in Time Square.   Both Dana and I have motion sickness issue so we weren't sure how this was going to work, but we did ok.  Luckily we made reservations because there was a really long line waiting to go up to the resturant.  We had drinks and the dessert and cheese bar.

What a wonderful time with some wonderful ladies.  I must also say thanks to our wonderful husbands for taking care of the kiddos for the weekend.
