She is on the move

Around 11 months Maryssa let go of daddy's fingers and was off.  She really didn't like to fall but Mommy and Daddy were so happy to see her achieve a milestone...or so we thought.  The next day she wanted nothing to do with walking.  She would only walk if she had a finger to hold onto.  Of course she wanted to walk, so we would spend hours walking circles around the house together.  This went on for a couple months and finally at the beginning of January she took off on her own.  Now we are both happier because we can do waht we want.  Maryssa plays int he other room, while mommy cleans or does laundry.  We still have lots of play time together, but it's nice to be able to do our own thing two.

Here is a video from her first day of walking before she gave it up.

Here is when she really was ready to go at the beginning of January.

Maryssa's First Birthday

Well I know that I'm a little behind, but we did celebate Maryssa's first birthday in November.  We actually celebrated it twice.  Lucky girl got two birthday cupcakes!  Her first celebration was down in Richmond with the Wiedeman side.  She was a little unsure of eating a cupcake since she had never seen one before, but once she tasted the icing it was all over!  She was spoiled with lots of books for her presents, which is great because we spend lots of time reading them now.

Her second celebration was with the Couch side and a couple close friends.  This time she had no reservations about digging in.

It's crazy to see how far our little girl came in a year.  Eric and I are so happy to be blessed with such a loving, snuggly, laughable, easy going little girl.
