The Couch Family: Bathroom Project and the Christophel Pitstop

This summer was spent working on our house, spending time with friends and family, and a few short trips here and there. As usual the projects turned into more work, money and time than we expected. The bathroom was the biggest project. The difficulty began right away. We tried to chunk the tile off the wall, only to find that one tile took what seemed like 20 minutes to come off and it left a really rough surface behind. So the whole drywall with tile attached came down. Bob came down to help replace the dry wall, Eric replaced the pipes and valve for the new fixtures, and then we are able to put up the new tile. We also had a company come in and reglaze the beautiful green tub. We decided that removing it was way to hard since it would require us to take down a wall, and then move the extremely heavy tub out of the house. The shower looked great and we moved onto the floor. After removing the old sink and toilet, Eric decided to take out some of the dry wall because it hat been patched up, and not to well, many times. It was here we found the mold. With an alien mask and some crazy chemicals, we were able to kill everything.The floor of the bathroom was a little easier. The tile came right off and the rest of the project went quickly. Overall, it took a week longer than we expected.

The bathroom project went on hold between the shower work and the floor work to visit with the Christophel family. They decided to stop for a night on their way down to visit family. It was so great to see our friends, and Rosemary is as beautiful as ever. She was talking up a storm, and was very entertaining.
